Rate: £550 - £600 per day

Cameron Kennedy is currently seeking an interim Year end Accountant to join a local authority in East Anglia. The role is to cover maternity and will be for a minimum of 6 months.

Skills and Experience required.

• You must have experience working in Local Government - ESSENTIAL
• Statement of Accounts (Year-end) Experience: Demonstrable experience in supporting or producing the Statement of Accounts, preferably within a council or similar public sector environment.
• Auditor Liaison: Experience in dealing with auditors and addressing queries to ensure a smooth audit process.

The Role

Primary responsibilities including:

• Year End Production: You will be responsible for overseeing the year-end production of the Statement of Accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Team Management: Managing a team of four direct reports, providing support, guidance, and oversight to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• Treasury Function: Overseeing various aspects of the treasury function to optimise financial performance and mitigate risks.
• Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes where necessary to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Business as Usual Tasks: Undertaking all other business-as-usual tasks typically handled by a permanent member of staff.
