Technical Author

This role requires a Technical Author with a keen eye for detail and a strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation in the aerospace manufacturing sector at our Newport location.

Description

• Develop and maintain technical documentation including manuals, procedures, product specifications, and project reports.
• Collaborate with engineers to gain an in-depth understanding of product functionality and specifications.
• Translate complex product information into clear, concise and user-friendly content.
• Review and edit existing content for clarity, grammar and formatting.
• Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Contribute to the maintenance of the Technical Authoring tools and systems.
• Adhere to company standards and guidelines when creating documents.

Profile

A successful Technical Author should have:

• A degree in a related field such as English, Technical Writing, Mechanical or Engineering.
• Strong technical writing skills with an ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, concise manner.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Proficiency in a range of authoring tools and software.
• Good communication skills with an ability to liaise with various teams.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to continually learn and improve.
