Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with Linux and Windows technologies and architecture/infrastructure, in compute infrastructure, supporting, developing, and maintaining cloud solutions.
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing enterprise solutions, and leading technical teams in an operational environment.
- Developed Vetting (DV) UK Security Clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Active Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance.
- Experience working in data center operations.
- Experience implementing projects in a customer-focused, fast-changing environment, and automating common tasks to improve resilience.
- Understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) environments.
- Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), AD group policies, and hardening practices.
- Knowledge of enterprise-grade operating systems, working in Linux/Unix/WSL, Kubernetes, and network administration.

As the Delivery and Operations Tech Lead you will lead a team of engineers who deliver and operate and support private cloud for our most security conscious customers. You will maintain the operational tempo, balancing the tactical and strategic work across infrastructure, integration, delivery, operations, and support functions. You will play a key role in strategy for the area and will build a sustainable and high performing engineering team. You will ensure a secure, stable and reliable operations center, while advocating for our customer and operator needs. As a technical lead you may be a key point of escalation during incidents, troubleshooting technical problems with a mix of networking, infrastructure, system administration and engineering skills, whilst calling on a range of other experts across Google.
Responsibilities
- Manage the deployment and configuration of air-gaped cloud solutions.
- Deliver, run, and maintain the cloud, including the supporting networking and cross-domain solutions technologies needed for high security deployments.
- Be responsible for ensuring the Operations Center IT and Observability platforms support the needs of the operations team and are conducive to maintaining a good service.
- Manage engineering teams to help design, deploy and manage solutions, and drive innovative approaches to operating and supporting infrastructure to achieve results.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate with engineering any issues that may arise with infrastructure, escalating to product teams as needed.
