Role: Technical Lead & Engineering Manager
Location: Luton - minimum 2x days onsite
Salary: £47,000 - £57,000 dependant on experience

Are you a highly skilled technical professional with a passion for leadership and innovation? We are looking for a dynamical and experienced Technical Lead and Engineering manager to join our team. You will play a crucial role on leading the technical vision, strategy, and project deliverables. You will be responsible for overseeing our team of highly skilled engineers (both layout and electronics) towards providing outstanding design solutions, service excellence and delivery to customers.
About the role
The Procurement Specialist will report into the Commercial Trading Manager, forming the procurement division of our Corporate Services department.
The Procurement Specialist will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of our supply chain operations by leading on the procurement of a wide range of goods and services, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, and driving the realisation of savings and benefits.
What you’ll be doing
- To provide input and technical evaluation for all Product Development opportunities and proposals providing technical support to the team where and when necessary
- To design, implement, and refine product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- To manage the team, identify training/development needs, carry out regular 1-2-1’s, appraisals and assign tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
- To lead the team in the development of new products, solutions, and processes
- To drive research and development in designs and products
- To provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams, both internal and external • To lead research and development projects that produce new designs, products, and processes.
- To carry out resource planning and regular reviews on all Product Development projects with both internal and external resource
- To work in line with our core values and team-ship rules
- To always act with a consistent and serious attitude to Health & Safety matters.
Experience & Skills
- A bachelor’s degree qualification (or equivalent) in engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leadership or management role
- Thorough knowledge of electronic components
- Strong ‘hands – on’ experience in electronic development
- Experience of Microsoft packages including Excel & Word
- Proven ability to lead, develop, train and manage a team of engineers.
- Previous experience in a similar role desirable
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skill.
- Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering multiple technical projects on time
