We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as an ISO Technical Lead Officer, responsible for progressing the implementation of ISO17025:2017 accreditation within our Digital Forensics Unit (DFU). Could you be who we are looking for?
About the team/Department you will be joining:
- We are a unique and growing team in an exciting area of policing, conducting forensic examinations of digital devices for all types of criminal investigations.
- The Digital Forensic Unit consists of a main laboratory based out of Pontprennau in Cardiff with mobile phone examination capabilities within our stations in Cardiff Bay, Merthyr, Bridgend and Swansea.
About the role and your key responsibilities:
- The role will be based at our Pontprennau offices, offering flexible and agile working.
- The successful candidate will participate in the accreditation of the DFU to ISO 17025 / 17020 standards as required by the Forensic Science Regulator for all forensic activities (See FSR Code of Practice, ISO17025:2017, ILAC G19), managing audits and inspections by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
- The successful candidate will be working alongside forensic investigators and technicians to manage our commitment to the ISO standards and the South Wales Police Quality Manual.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
- We are looking for a well organised individual who can evidence previous experience working to standards of quality.
- We are keen to hear from you if you have previously worked in or managed an ISO controlled environment.
- An interest or previous experience in digital devices and technical concepts would be advantageous.

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers
The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
