(After c12-18 months this role will involve significant travel and therefore will become hybrid and include a car allowance)
Location: Surrey
Technical Sales Engineer:
* The first 12-18 months will be spent learning about their products and understanding the industry/applications and client base.
* During this time, the successful Technical Sales Engineer will work alongside the Senior Solutions Manager to develop sales tactics and how to develop relationships with clients by shadowing them on client meetings/views.
* Working alongside an Account Manager, leads from potential/new clients will be passed over to follow on with a client meeting and discuss new potential opportunities to provide solutions
* Reviewing the technical issues clients have and coming up with solutions to sell in
* Mixture between account management and growth and business development - 60% account management
* Building and developing relationships with current clients to grow sales with them
* Highlighting advantages of certain products and providing commercial information
* Price negotiation after solution has been sent to client
* Following up on quotations, cross-selling and up-selling additional services
* Revitalizing relationships with dormant clients - rebuilding relations
* Visiting exhibitions and conferences to better understand the industry and meet new potential clients
Experience & background for the role of Field Sales Engineer:
* A technical degree - Electronics/Physics/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical/Aerospace/etc
* This role will suit a technically minded individual, with either some experience within direct sales OR a keen interest in working within an active sale environment
* You must be interested in working within a sales setting, speaking directly with customers, building relationships and new business development
* You must also be self-motivated, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
