Sunrise Systems Limited is an independent British company which has been in operation for about 40 years. It serves the oil & gas, power and shipbuilding industries. Our software PIPENET is used around the globe. We have a unique position in the market and a substantial part of our revenue is generated overseas. We are a small international company where the environment is friendly and where everyone has a key role.
About the role:
The role involves providing consultancy services, designing new software user interface (GUI) and calculation capability, Technical Support to users in the application of our software PIPENET, test new versions of our software and monitor our software development.
The role requires extensive engineering experience and knowledge of piping applications, especially in fluid flow. It also requires in-depth knowledge of the oil & gas industry and applications in that industry. It also requires reasonably good experience and knowledge of the power generation and shipbuilding industries.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Research into basic knowledge, evaluate new theories and techniques for incorporating into our new range of engineering software products.
- Taking part in technical consultancy services
- Provide Technical Support in the use of our software products to users
- New software appraisal with regard to market requirements, cost and technical feasibility of development.
- Devise and implement control systems to monitor performance of software development projects.
Your essential skills and experience:
- Be able to carry out fluid flow analysis calculation and compile User and Training Manuals.
- Have working knowledge of Code for Pressure Piping, ASME 31.3, ASME 31.1, ASTM, ANSI, API standards and apply these requirements on projects.
- Knowledge of fluid flow analysis of networks and pipe stress analysis.
- Perform fluid flow analysis of advanced complex systems using PIPENET.
- Have a working experience in onshore and offshore projects in both conceptual and detailed design.
- Have several years of experience in pipeline calculations.
- Managing technical software development project execution, write review specifications, prepare and maintain schedules, create progress reports, develop and monitor estimates and manpower forecasts, assign work, interact personnel, material procurement and subcontract activities.
- Experience of making preliminary user and training manuals
