The Technical Support Supervisor role
The role of Technical Support Supervisor is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. You will be based from home, providing 2nd line Technical Support to our team of field based Forklift Engineers and dealer network within the southern region (South East and South West). The role involves travel throughout the whole of the Southern region and occasional extended travel and overnight stays may be required.
Key tasks
As our Technical Support Supervisor you will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd line Technical Support to our engineers and dealer network.
- Producing and delivering technical training courses at our Head Office in Thame, Oxfordshire and at our customer sites and dealer premises when required.
- Carry out technical investigations and produce accurate and detailed supporting reports.
- Carry out Engineer standards checks at customer sites throughout the southern region.
- Support the Sales team with technical product queries.
- Attend customer and dealer meetings and/or site visits in support of technical problems.
Skills and Experience
If you have worked with material handling products before this will be a bonus, however, full, in-depth training will be provided so we are open to considering candidates from related industries such as: Automotive, Agricultural, REME, Construction Equipment, PSV, HGV, LGV or Plant.
Our ideal Technical Support Supervisor will have:
- Extensive knowledge of our products and services or will be able to show previous experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of the complexities of supporting brands through direct and indirect routes to market.
- Experience of using Microsoft software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- The ability to arrange and plan their work to deadlines.
- The understanding of the cost implications of your decisions, so as to ensure the most appropriate solution is chosen.
