As high-level graduate (BSc, MSc or PhD) of Chemist, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering Scientist you will embark on a development / product formulation opportunity. This is a great role for a chemist who wants to be involved Product Innovation & engineering for a global company that develops the technical capabilities to deliver innovation and knowledge across business units. With a strong formulation background, you will be developing new test methods, the understanding of components interactions, the design of prototype formulations, and the development of sustainable solutions.
As a technical project leader, you would work on a range of chemistry research projects. The role is focused on leadership of technical projects and project teams that feed into business-critical activities across multiple areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Executing projects which result in new technical capabilities - molecules, formulations, intellectual property, processes, tests
- Solving complex scientific problems through generation of innovative solutions
- Communicating across multiple interfaces and influencing stakeholders and internal customers
- Supervision and development of junior colleagues through both project and appraisal leadership
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required:
- BSc MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science
- Technical background - significant experienced technology/ chemical product development, in various areas like fuel cells or organic chemistry or formulation or polymers, fuels, diesels markets but can take from other industries materials etc.
- Must have commercial experience after graduating, or string industrial collaborations.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex technical data, to derive sound technical judgements and drive project decisions
- Ability to understand needs, manage expectations, and deliver on stakeholder commitments
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams
- Strong commitment to safety and quality values
- Experience of sustainable and/or green chemistry in an industrial setting desirable
- Strong safety focus including a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality risk assessments.
- Ability to take an objective view of technical problems and address them with creativity and innovation.
