Position: Temporary Accommodation Placement Manager
Location: South London
Hourly Rate: £40 p/h (Umbrella)
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months (Possible Extension)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the provision of interim and second stage Temporary Accommodation, ensuring appropriate allocations and flow.
- Liaise with local advice, support and accommodation providers to promote the use of the private rented sector, as a viable alternative to social rented housing.
- Responsible for managing contracts with external organisations contracted to deliver Temporary Accommodation services in support of the statutory S188 and S193 duties as set out in the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
- Ensure that all Temporary Accommodation offered for letting is let as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
- Ensure that accurate records are kept of all lettings, tenancy nominations and home visits, as well as movements of homeless households in and out of Temporary Accommodation.
- Prior experience in a Temporary Accommodation-related role at team leader level, within a local authority environment or similar.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of Housing Act 1996 part VII as amended by the Homeless Act 2002, the Localism Act 2011, and the Homeless Reduction Act 2017.
- At least 3 years’ extensive experience of working in a service that provides specialist housing advice and practical assistance to homeless households or those at risk of homelessness.
- Demonstrable experience of managing teams providing a front-line service.
- A clean, Standard DBS is required for this role, candidates without this will not be considered.
