Temporary Accounts Assistant

Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant who is available immediately to start a new contract in Blackpool?

On behalf of our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Blackpool, we are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a temporary basis, initially for 3 months. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment. The role is crucial in supporting their financial operations by managing the purchase ledger and sales ledger, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices, maintain vendor records, and reconcile supplier statements
• Generate and send out invoices, record and allocate incoming payments, and handle customer queries
• Prepare payment runs and conduct credit control activities
• Assist with month-end closing and maintain accurate financial records
• Provide administrative support to the finance team and contribute to process improvements

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in purchase ledger and sales ledger management
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is highly desirable
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Month-end closing experience is an advantage
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills
