Community Centre AssistantSupervisor (Part-time)

Main purpose of job
Tobe responsible to the Community Centre Supervisor to ensure supervision of accessto the centre, to respond to requests from the public, to ensure a highstandard of cleanliness and the good appearance of the building and itsenvirons.
Toassist in ensuring the accurate and timely production of all necessarydocumentation reports and official returns.
Toact as a key holder.
Summary ofresponsibilities and personal duties
1.Torespond appropriately to routine enquiries from community groups or the generalpublic whether by telephone, electronic means or in person.
2.Toassist with the completion of booking forms, issue copies of the “Conditions ofHire” and maintain a desk diary of booking requests and approvals. This includes the special proceduresassociated with one-off bookings, or events involving the consumption ofalcohol.
3.Toissue receipts for booking money and collect and keep secure all cash received(including telephone). To prepare andlodge monies as required and comply with section policy on handling money.
4.Toassist with the completion and submission of all necessary documentation,reports and official returns, as required, adhering to stated deadlines whereappropriate in accordance with section and council policy.
5.Toset out equipment and furniture as required for booking and to take allreasonable steps to ensure that equipment and furniture is properly cared forand the risk of damage or theft is minimised.
6.Toact as key holder responsible for opening and closing of the centre,controlling access to all parts of the building and responding to “call-outs”,as and when available.
7.Tomake all Health and Safety checks including Fire Log Procedures and takeappropriate action.
8.Toassist with the receipt, safe storage and economical use of all supplies andmaterials. To compile and help maintaininventories in accordance with council policy and procedures.
9.Touse appropriate emergency contact procedures during or outside office hours.
10.Toreport major repairs or defects on the premises directly to the appropriatesection with follow up requisitions and orders as required.

Experience:
Applicantsmust, be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples,relevant experience of:
a)theoperation of facilities, that is, health and safety procedures, cleaning andmaintenance and associated administrative duties; and
b)dealingwith members of the public.

Location: North Queen Street Belfast
Hours: 17:00 -21:00 hours (19.50) perweek
Salary: £12.18 per hour plus accruedholiday pay
