We have a fantastic opportunity for two Temporary Employment Vetting Officers (EVO) to join our team on a full-time basis in Chelmsford. These positions require a commitment to attend the office 2-3 days per week, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth onboarding of new.
The Opportunity:
As an Employment Vetting Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all pre-Employment Vetting checks are efficiently conducted, meeting statutory and policy requirements. Your responsibilities will include obtaining required checks such as employment references, DBS checks, right to work, vaccination, etc. The successful candidates will be expected to be subject matter experts on vetting legislation and policys, ensuring clear communication between hiring managers and candidates throughout the vetting process.
The Experience You Will Bring:
- Understanding of employment and vetting legislation in both regulated and non-regulated environments.
- Proficient IT skills, with essential knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
- Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail, able to work at pace and prioritize workload effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of providing exceptional customer service.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and customers.
Key Accountabilities:
- Obtain and review required checks for each role, including employment references, DBS checks, right to work, vaccination, etc., ensuring compliance with statutory and policy requirements.
- Utilize technology to undertake all necessary clearances for new starters, managing multiple workstreams efficiently to meet agreed timescales.
- Keep candidates and hiring managers regularly informed of clearance progress, managing expectations and addressing delays promptly.
- Provide best-in-class candidate and hiring manager care, responding to emails within 24 hours and proactively guiding candidates through the vetting process via phone and email.
- See cases through to completion, including issuing contracts, accurate integration into payroll systems, and obtaining satisfactory survey responses.
