A temporary opportunity is available for a Project Engineer based at Swansea for a period of up to 6 months (subject to review). The Projects Team is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the 132kV system and major construction schemes across all voltages within South West Wales area.
*Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

Main ResponsibilitiesThe main responsibilities include:
The management and control of projects work involving plant, overhead and underground systems, including:-
Project Safety (Inc CDM)
Project Finances
Project Related Network Risk
Procurement and Contractor Management
SAP duties
Maintenance and problem solving on existing plant and equipment.
The commissioning and maintenance of protection systems.
The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate should demonstrate a practical knowledge of protection and control systems, including the commissioning of such equipment and should also be familiar with specifications for plant.
You must be self-motivated, adaptable and demonstrate a high level of autonomy and work effectively under pressure. The role demands the highest standards of quality whilst maintaining a safe and disciplined working environment.
The successful candidate must be mobile throughout the area and may be required to undertake standby duties in accordance with a pre-determined rota.
As the role will involve significant technical challenges, you should have a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 and a HNC qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) is desirable.
