A social housing provider is looking to add a Tenant Liaison Officer to their Chesterfield branch.
Due to the rising pressure and issues surrounding damp & mould within social housing, this organisation is creating some new roles to help them tackle some of these issues.
This is a permanent position with a salary starting at £28,500 and rising to £32,500
Working Hours & Holidays
- Working hours per week- 40, Monday to Friday
- Flexi-time
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 30 as years of service increase)

Your new role
- To support a triage process following contact from customers who report damp and mould in their home, and if determined to be the first person attending to assess the issues and co-ordinate an appropriate response.
- Where works are required in the home to undertake an Equality Impact Assessment to ensure support is tailored to the needs of the household.
- To raise works with the appropriate department or escalate for a surveyor to attend where the issues are more complex.
- To work proactively with customers to suggest improvements in their environment such as decluttering areas or ventilating and heating rooms effectively. Where customers have concerns about the cost of heating their home, and this is contributing to the issues of damp and mould, to provide signposting to our in-house financial inclusion team or external agencies for assistance.
- To work closely with the Housing Patch Managers and Officers where broader issues or support needs are identified in the home.
What you\'ll need to succeed
- Full UK Driving license and access to own vehicle are essential
- Previous experience in a Tenant Liaison Officer role is strongly proffered and ideally within social housing
- A level or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant field required
- Beneficial if HNC/CIH Level 3 in Housing Studies or similar but not essential
- Understanding of damp & mould and appropriate legislation
- Must be a customer focused candidate with a strong work ethic and desire to help people
- Willingness to work occasional unsociable hours
