Test and Validation Engineer - Coventry - £35,000 to £55,000 per annum (plus benefits) - Permanent

Do you have experience in powertrain development, testing and design validation with knowledge of electric drive unit (EDU) and batteries? A Test and Validation Engineer opportunity has become available for one of the world's leading technology companies for development, simulation and testing in the automotive industry.

You will join a team with the primary objective of working closely with customers to work on the Design Validation (DV) of Electric Drive Units and batteries. You will be expected to take ownership for planning and executing test work primarily on developmental rigs, providing clear and concise data analysis and reporting/recommendations to customer teams (focused but not limited to EDU, Electric Motor, Power Electronics). 

In your first few weeks in this Test & Validation Engineer role, you can expect to:

• Be responsible for the testing campaign from requirements definition to data analysis and reporting for design validation of the unit under test
• Define and plan the testing requirements with the Subject Matter Expert
• Supervise the testing facility set up to ensure Rig and Unit Under Test fulfil the requirements
• Provide on-site support to customers or other facilities to monitor and ensure good delivery
• Data processing and data analysis that will be used to make engineering decisions

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering area (Mechanical, Automotive, Electronics, etc)
• Experience in powertrain development, testing and design validation
• Electric Drive Unit and battery experience/knowledge
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to summarise and make clear technical recommendations
• Agile/Scrum knowledge (Desirable)
