A fast-growing and established UK start-up that is revolutionising the global IoT market through its radical new approach to securing the edge of large scale IoT networks is looking for a fully remote Test Automation Engineer in London. As Test Automation Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing automation solutions for component integration and system integration testing, mainly for Linux, but also on Windows machines.
- Architecting and writing code to improve the quality of the automation toolchain.
- Consulting the Director of QA, develop guidelines and specifications for designing / implementing automation solutions.
- Reporting on key performance metrics to assess impact/value.
- Working with engineering, product and marketing to understand customer requirements and update the roadmap for solution, to reflect priorities.
- Mentoring engineers to effectively use frameworks, and in writing cases for Rest-API and low-level implementations.
- Collaborating with local and remote teams to share knowledge across the organisation.
- Participating in stand-ups.
- Applying good engineering practices and agile methodologies in all development activities.
- Creating plans, defects, documentation, reports, and any other artefacts required by the QA Director.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar position or in Software Engineering.
- Extensive hands-on software development experience
- Experienced in software technology, programming languages and associated tools (e.g. C++, Python)
- Any demonstrable background in test (using automated frameworks such as Catch2, cpputest, cppunit, GoogleTest, Cucumber, Behave, or equivalent) is required.
- Proven ability to implement solutions in Python, C/C++ or any other 4G language.
- Applied knowledge of Python, Bash, or other scripting language.
- Applied knowledge of working within a CI environment: GitLab, Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.
- Knowledge of testing Restful Web-Services
