Our client are a fast paced manufacturing business with multiple production lines based in Sheffield. With an expanding order book and expansive R&D department they wish to appoint a Test Engineer with experience of designing test equipment and test procedures and following those processes through to completion. It is important you have good practical skills of building / assembling and then testing electro-mechanical products.
As Test Engineer you will provide Test Engineer support for the R&D team tackling a variety of tasks to improve test development. You will have a technological qualification, experience of building, testing and debugging electro-mechanical equipment, excellent written communication skills to produce documentation and a "go the extra mile" attitude to proactively support the design engineering team. Test Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Electronics / Hardware / Mechanical / BOM / Test Engineer / Design / Electrical & Electronic / Testing / Design Engineer
Produce and maintain technically accurate and illustrative (3D) Test Procedures, including owning DVPs (Design Verification Plans) for reliability and warranty requirements
Create and maintain test equipment BOMs, schematics, and technical drawings
Produce Risk Assessments, maintenance/calibration plans and trouble shoot guides for test processes
Assemble electro-mechanical products to specification and then test and debug them
Provide technical support to Production, Quality & TPM teams
Involvement with report / data generation process for R&D and manufacturing

HNC or equivalent as a minimum in an engineering or technology based subject
Competent in designing, building, testing and debugging test equipment and electro-mechanical products
Experience of building, testing and working with electro-mechanical assemblies
Ability to understand to a basic degree electronic circuit schematics, embedded software, and the basic function of standard electrical and electronic components
Excellent mechanical design skills to produce documentation of test equipment and processes to fine tune testing practices over time
Excellent computer literacy, particularly with MS Office apps Excel, Word and Outlook
