Purpose of the Job/Objective

  • Write and update Train test procedures
  • Carries out type, validation, serial tests, or investigation tests, and preparing reports
  • Defines and implements the most appropriate testing methodology and means of testing
  • Develops test operating modes and analyses test results
  • Provide on-site to commissioning & warranty of ongoing projects

  • Hierarchical : SCVM Site Certification and Validation Manager
  • Functional : TVE Train Validation Engineer

 

Network & Links

  • Internal Interfaces : Site Certification and Validation Manager, Validation Engineer, Test Manager, Test technician, Technical experts
  • External Interfaces : Test infrastructure providers, Suppliers of test equipment, External Test laboratories, Customers representatives

 

Performance Measurement

  • Timely execution of the test program
  • % of rework of test report
  • % of rework of test procedures

 

Accountable for:

  • Defining the most appropriate test methodology, testing means and developing the test operating mode in accordance within the costs time and pass-fail criterion set for the test.

 

Responsible for :

  • Preparing the tests he/she is responsible for
    • Participating in the design and the development of the tools necessary for performing the tests
    • Implementing, verifying (functional), and ensuring compliance (calibration) of the measuring equipment to be ready at the time of the test.
    • Preparing the equipment for testing. Validating that the applied configuration and prerequisite testing allows the testing to proceed.  
  • Respecting EHS rules notably implementing LockOutTagOut instruction.
  • Supervising and/or executing test activities, analyzing test results “live” and deciding if test has to be redone or not
  • Test results data analysis, writing static and dynamic test reports.

    • DIM : dimensional & gauge
    • EMC : electromagnetic Compatibility
    • NOISE : acoustics / noise
    • RDYN : railway dynamics
    • WEIGHT : weight management & allocation
    • WINTER : winterisation, climatic adaptation
    • AUX : auxiliary supply
    • BRAKE
    • BOGIE
    • DOORS
    • EARTHING : safety earthing
    • FIRE : fire protection system
    • HORN : horn & headlights
    • HVAC
    • LIGHT : internal lighting
    • PAPIS
    • RADIO : train radio
    • SIG : signaling
    • TCMS
    • THENG : thermal engine
    • TRACTION
    • TOILET
    • WINDOW : Passenger window, windscreen and wiper and washing system
    • TRAIN : train operation
    • TOD : track obstacle detection
    • PRM : disabled persons
  • Ability to define, create and maintain test benches
  • Software Validation

 

Innovation

  • Force of proposal for validation methods/tools improvement (from a quality, duration and cost point of view) on his/her scope of activities in particular to decrease the time spent on trains

 

Educational Requirements

  • 4-year Engineering degree from accredited institution + 2-years of applicable technical experience

 

Pay Rate: $66,000-92,000
