Firewall Test Engineer

My client, based within Financial Services, are looking for Firewall Engineer for an initial 6 Month Contract.

The role is REMOTE and INSIDE of IR35. The Day Rate is £550

The client require someone with experience working in Lab or Pre Production environment with testing Checkpoint and Firewalls experience.

The key areas of the role mean the candidate needs experience in with Checkpoint and Fortinet Firewalls & experience working in Lab or pre-production environment with testing checkpoint and firewalls experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive testing on various network and security devices including Checkpoint and Fortinet firewall.
• Develop and execute test plans to evaluate the performance, reliability, and security of network connectivity solutions.
• Simulate network traffic and security breach scenarios to assess device responses and system integrity.

Key Skills:

• 3 years of experience in a network security or connectivity testing role.
• Strong knowledge with Checkpoint Firewall, Fortinet.
• Technical knowledge in networking (Cisco and non-Cisco) with an emphasis on software-defined networks
• Extensive experience as a data network and security specialist in a large enterprise network Proficient hands on experience networking background (Subnetting, Switching, Routing, VLANs, VRFs, Firewalls, VPNs…etc)
• Proficient in setting up and manage the modern configuration management, infrastructure as code tools, CI/CD tools (e.g. Ansible, Jenkins , Git, GitHub etc.) is a plus
