Test Manager

Test Manager - Northampton- Hybrid - GBP44,000 - GBP54,000 plus exceptional benefits

We are working with a prestigious local organisation in the throes of a digital transformation. Following on from a multi-million pound investment project over recent years they are looking to a Test Manager to join them as they complete the rollout and adoption of a platform pivotal to their ongoing success.

As the Test Manager you will be accountable for all testing delivered for this important Programme and this includes the end-to-end coordination of testing across multiple teams and departments. You will own the overall test strategy, approach, planning, scheduling, management, and assurance of all testing relating to the platform, including supplier management & assurance. You will take responsibility for the planning and scheduling of overall delivery of test activities, across multiple concurrent running releases with the use of Jira, MSP and various other testing tools to ensure delivery to agreed timelines.

Following on from the completed rollout you will continue to lead on testing for ongoing platform improvements and will also have the opportunity to work on other key internal systems.

Key skills and experience required:

• Experience of leading test across a programme of technical and business change, ideally within an educational, public sector or Software House environment
• You will demonstrate knowledge of a broad range of testing specialisms, including but not limited to functional test, defect management, test environment management, migration, system, system integration test, UAT, Non-functional test
• You will have knowledge and experience of testing methodologies e.g. V-Model, AGILE etc combined with experience of implementing risk-based testing approach for large scale change implementations
• You will have experience in managing sizable third party test suppliers
• Experience of embedding and shaping new test strategy's/approaches across large matrix managed organisation would be useful - but not essential.
• It would be desirable (but not essential) if you held a Software testing certification or qualification such as ISTQB Certified Tester
