Test Technician

Position: Propulsion Test TechnicianSalary: £35K to £45K + overtime + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + pension + life assuranceShifts: Early-late alternating / regular days / nightsType: PermanentLocation: Milton KeynesMy client is a world leading testing company specialising in the testing of combustion engine and electric vehicle propulsion systems. Due to ongoing expansion and contract wins, they are now looking for Test Technicians to support this growth. Daily responsibilities include mechanical and electrical rigging, fitting and operating test systems as well as general engineering tasks in the workshop. We have vacancies available in both engine testing and EV powertrain testing, with the potential to cross-train across both. We also have a night shift position available with a significant salary uplift.Responsibilities include: * Conduct fitting work and testing on EV, engines, transmissions, hybrid systems or components in line with project requirements and customer instructions * Operation of multiple test rigs using defined test methods and scripts * Execution of test and development activities, including reporting * Maintain test bed files and all relevant forms, data sheets and logbooks * Ensure all instrumentation used is calibrated in line with company procedures * Assist in the resolution of customer complaints, recommending appropriate corrective and preventive actions * To identify problems and faults as they arise and provide the initiative for solutionsSkills and Experience Required * Experience fitting engines, transmissions or electric vehicle propulsion components (motors, inverters, batteries) * Ideally, but not essentially, this experience will have been gained in a testing environment * Highly organised with strong attention to detail * Can maintain clear and traceable documentation * Adaptability and applied learning * Motivated and a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously * Use of suitable hand and power tools for manual tasks * Strong H&S awareness and understanding * Customer focussed * Confident communicator and able to build rapport, quickly and effectively * Demonstrates flexibility and resilience in order to meet the demands of the roleOpen to Vehicle Technicians, Master Technicians, Service Engineers, Engine Fitters, Engine Technicians, Test Technicians, etc.If you would like to learn more, please contact Rob Brunt or forward your CV for consideration.
