Role Brief
Carry out skilled TIG welding work including inspection, planning, preparation and cutting, inspection, checking/testing; to fabricate, repair, maintain and install metal item, checking/testing whilst performing the allocated tasks to meet applicable safety standards, targets, criteria and deadlines and to maximise productivity and profitability.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Measure and align work pieces using straightedges, clamps, and calipers
- Ensure compliance with established health/safety policies and regulations
- Carry out grinding and thermal cutting operations to obtain various textures and sizes for metal parts
- Oversee the set-up of TIG welding equipment
- Operate power and hand tools such as arc welders, buffing machine, and scrapers
- Maintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals
- Ensure welding operations meet set specifications and construction requirements
Competencies and role requirements.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with welding metal components
- You will be able to operate gas and non-gas welding device in carrying out welding duties
- You will be able to measure accurately using a tape measure.
- Problem-solving Skill to assess metal structures to identify and repair any of damaged welds
- Read and interpret drawings
- Be able to follow instructions and complete work to a high standard
- Attention to detail
- Follow all health and safety procedures set out by the company to maintain a safe working environment for all
- Wear the correct PPE whilst carrying out the welding role
Hours
38 hours per week - 13:45 – 22:00 Monday – Thursday with a 30 minute unpaid break and Friday 12:30 – 19:30 with a 30 minute paid break.
