Job description

Bank Project Worker

Hazel Court, Worcester

£11.52

Hours as and when required

Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

We’re seeking an experienced Bank Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our customers. Hazel Court offers 14 purpose-built apartments providing housing and support for adults with learning disabilities. We provide care and support for adults aged 18 to 65, encouraging them to develop their skills and increase their independence.

This is a fabulous opportunity to make a positive impact to people’s lives in a supportive environment with a dedicated and valued team where learning and development is encouraged, and we support each other. We don’t just see you as a staff member but as a valuable asset in the lives of our people.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

Sanctuary also has a great employee Rewards scheme, where you will be able to receive a variety of discounts from major retailers.

If you want to make a difference every day, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The role of Bank Project Worker will include:

  • Regularly assessing the needs of customers by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
  • Supporting customers in their day to day living i.e. with cooking and cleaning
  • Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Assisting customers with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping customers to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem

Skills and experiences:

  • Some experience of working with customers with mental health and/or complex needs
  • A sound knowledge of housing management, including voids and arrears management, and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • Experience of motivating and encouraging individuals to reach their goals
  • A positive approach to challenging behaviour
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar

Why work for us?

We’re united in working together to help customers on their pathways for independence, and our people are the single, biggest influence on our success.

No matter your job – delivering support directly or working in our offices to support our frontline teams – your work makes a difference every day.

We won the West Midlands Care Employer Award 2022-23, in recognition of our commitment to our staff and supporting our teams to be their best. We’ve also been awarded Investors in People Gold status for the second time – because we value our people and have a strong focus on inclusion, teamwork, and empowerment.

We’re committed to providing an inclusive and supportive work environment where you can grow and thrive. And like our customers, we know everyone is different, and we’ll support you to be your best self. We’ll develop your skills and experiences, celebrate success, and turn any setbacks into motivation.

Are you ready to be your best?

Brilliant work deserves brilliant benefits! As part of our commitment to making Sanctuary Supported Living a great place to work, here are just some of the ways we’ll reward you:

  • £11.52 per hour
  • A variety of online discounts and rewards from major retailers
  • Health and well-being plans
  • A wide range of learning and development opportunities

We are proud to support the Department of Health and Social Care’s ‘Made with Care’ campaign to encourage more people to apply to work in adult social care.
