Job description

Bank Project Worker

Simon Mead House, Kent

£13.12 effective from 1 April 2024

Hours as and when required

Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However, you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

We’re seeking an experienced Bank Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our customers.

Our team of Project Workers work closely with our customers to understand their needs, create personalised plans, and support them to achieve their ambitions and maximise their independence.

We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as ongoing training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. We have our own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

Sanctuary also has a great employee rewards scheme, where you will be able to receive a variety of discounts from major retailers.

The role of Bank Project Worker will include:

  • Regular key working and support planning to ensure relevant support is provided to encourage our customers to maximise their own potential and level of independence
  • Assessing the needs of our customers by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training, and employment
  • Offering housing-related support
  • Assisting customers with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping customers to build their confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the customers and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working with vulnerable people
  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • The ability to react effectively under pressure
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Health and Social Care or willing to work towards, is essential

Why work for us?

We’re united in working together to help customers on their pathways for independence, and our people are the single, biggest influence on our success.

No matter your job – delivering support directly or working in our offices to support our frontline teams – your work makes a difference every day.

We won the West Midlands Care Employer Award 2022-23, in recognition of our commitment to our staff and supporting our teams to be their best. We’ve also been awarded Investors in People Gold status for the second time – because we value our people and have a strong focus on inclusion, teamwork, and empowerment.

We’re committed to providing an inclusive and supportive work environment where you can grow and thrive. And like our customers, we know everyone is different, and we’ll support you to be your best self. We’ll develop your skills and experiences, celebrate success, and turn any setbacks into motivation.

Are you ready to be your best?

Brilliant work deserves brilliant benefits! As part of our commitment to making Sanctuary Supported Living a great place to work, here are just some of the ways we’ll reward you:

  • £13.12 per hour, effective from 1 April 2024
  • A variety of online discounts and rewards from major retailers
  • Health and well-being plans
  • A wide range of learning and development opportunities

We’re proud to support the Department of Health and Social Care’s campaign to encourage more people to apply to work in adult social care. If you’re considering a caring career, we have many rewarding roles at Sanctuary Supported Living. For more information on the campaign clickhere
