We’re seeking an experienced Support Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our customers. Epworth House has 13 self-contained flats. We provide personal care and support for adults aged 18 and over, with a range of learning disabilities and mental health needs, encouraging them to develop their skills and live as independently as possible.
We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as ongoing training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. We have our own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Support Worker will include:
- Supporting customers to maintain links with family and friends
- Making sure customers’ health care appointments are up to date and support customers to attend them
- Reporting incidents and other Health and Safety issues
- Providing one-to-one support to customers, helping them to develop their daily living skills and strive for greater independence
- Supporting customers with benefit application and management
- Producing care and support plans and risk management plans with customers
- Liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of customers
- Managing any safeguarding or serious incidents
Skills and experiences:
- Previous experience working in care is essential, ideally with people who have learning disabilities
- Experience of motivating and encouraging individuals to reach their goals
- Positive approach to challenging behaviour
- The ability to work on your own initiative
- Basic computer skills are required for online training
- NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
- Good interpersonal, customer care and communication skills
- Travel is a requirement of the role; therefore, a full valid driving licence is essential
