The Royal Albert Hall is recruiting for an enthusiastic and professional Tour Guide to join our Tours team.
The Royal Albert Hall offers a number of different tour opportunities for visitors to experience this extraordinary and iconic building and to learn about its colourful past, unique architecture and unparalleled entertainment history. Tours and tours products are a vital part of the Hall’s business and its on-going commitment to ensuring the building is as open and accessible to the public as possible.
We are seeking to recruit a Tour Guide with a warm and welcoming approach to customer service, a resilient and calm manner, with a passion for sharing the Royal Albert Hall’s extraordinary story.
Tour guides are responsible for engaging the public in the Hall’s unique story, conducting tours of the building, providing accurate and interesting information to varied audiences all while providing excellent customer service.
The vacancy will have a minimum of 40 hours per month. The contract will be for an immediate start and for a fixed term period until 31st October 2024, with the potential for extension after this time.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work subject to a roster, following a rotating pattern. Your working hours will be determined by this roster pattern, generally delivering 3/4one-hour tours between the hours of 9.30am to 5.30pm on any day of the week, including weekends, public holidays and occasional evenings. On beginning the role you must be prepared to undertake intensive training and historical research along with ongoing learning and development throughout your time as Royal Albert Hall Tour Guide.
