Job description

Our Tours operation trades all year round - with additional Museum events and experiences operating throughout the summer months.

This position is primarily focussed on conducting tours of Lord’s Cricket Ground with a duration of between thirty minutes to four hours in length, to the specification provided by the Tours Office Staff.

Act as an ‘Ambassador’ of MCC, providing the highest possible `front of house’ service to tour visitors, event guests and all those visiting the Museum and Lord’s Cricket Ground.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a high-standard customer service environment, preferably in a sports venue or a similar establishment.
  • Specific training will be provided regarding MCC tours content. However, must be comfortable presenting and speak to large groups and answer questions.
  • Capable of delivering engaging and accurate information, including historical details.
  • Adaptable to changes in tour routes and instructions on short notice.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with colleagues and various departments within the Ground.
  • Maintains composure under pressure, providing polite and assertive directions to customers.
  • Demonstrates excellent face-to-face customer service, managing high volumes of people in a dynamic environment.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, MCC staff, and Ground visitors.
  • Presents a professional appearance and is punctual.
  • Exhibits outstanding verbal communication skills.
  • Works well under pressure, managing multiple demands concurrently.
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to frequently changing conditions.
  • Open to weekend and holiday shifts, and available for various tour types as per availability.
