Trainee Actuarial Analyst
London/Hybrid
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Trainee Actuarial Analyst to join our successful and well-established Pricing Data Science team in London. Working alongside a growing team of 40 Pricing and Data Science specialists, you will be supporting the pricing of $5 Billion of annual premium, have the opportunity to cover multiple lines of business, and work closely with Underwriters across the UK, Europe, Lloyd's and London Markets.

Your New Role
  • Support the development of pricing tools and rates and the review of premium/rating methods to ensure that methods adopted by the business are robust/valid.
  • Work on the case pricing of larger risks and binders
  • Ensure appropriate checks are performed within processes to minimize inaccuracies.
  • Assist the product pricing lead to ensure that processes are aligned to business needs and fit for purpose.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer focus.
  • Use appropriate systems and procedures to ensure accurate data is used and subsequently appropriate analyses produced. This is to include adopting efficient and consistent actuarial models and processes and/or technologies where appropriate.
  • Fuse new data science techniques with traditional pricing methods to help form a market leading team of pricing data science professionals.
  • Comply with documentation of key processes and policies to ensure QBE Europe and its divisions: | Comply with all material legal and regulatory requirements | Adhere to relevant actuarial standards and good practice | Meet all internal European and/or global internal reporting requirements | Support with minimizing the risk of business discontinuity.

  • Desirable: Python experience, or experience with other programming languages.
