AddressGrant Palmer Ltd is a £4m bus company serving Bedfordshire. We're locally owned, financially secure and progressive, and run buses right across Bedfordshire.
We're looking for new Bus Drivers to join the team and our Training School is now open and recruiting Trainee Bus Drivers.
- We pay all your training costs up front.
- After selection, you'll need a medical and provisional licence to drive a bus.
- We'll then book you in for your theory tests.
- Once those are done, we'll agree a start date to enter our training school - all being well, training will take about 4-5 weeks and you'll receive training pay of £10.42 during that time.
- After your training is complete, a full-time 37-40 hour week over 4 days will give you a minimum guarantee of £26,000 per year, typical basic earnings of £28,000 per year. With overtime you could earn £35,000 (5 day week).
- Once you're qualified and working with us, you will contribute £75 per month towards your training costs, over 3 years. You'll need to sign a contract to repay your training costs if you leave early. If you stay with us, we wil repay you £900 at the end of year 4, year 5 and year 6, meaning your training could be totally free.
You would need to have been driving for at least 2 years and be 21+ for insurance purposes. Some commercial driving experience in a van, lorry or small minibus would be a great advantage.
Total meal breaks above 90 minutes are paid on duty. Other benefits are 6 weeks paid holiday, free travel scheme, company pension, and a range of wellbeing programmes.
