Trainee Buyer

Reed are delighted to be partnering with a well-established global organisation, who are seeking a Trainee Buyer to join their Ipswich-based team. With a salary of up to £30,000 plus commission on offer, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who has sales or relationship/account management to build their skills with exposure to a new industry.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Purchase commodities from suppliers and manage the sale of other products.
• Collaborate with the team to identify and engage prospective customers, highlighting the advantages of our services to open new accounts.
• Ensure timely payment of accounts within agreed terms and maintain control over customer credit.
• Conduct product sampling and assist with the organisation of this process.
• Handle customer queries, perform data entry for contracts, and support the CRM system with relevant information.
• Maintain an effective working knowledge of all commodities traded, as well as seed, fertiliser, and other crop products sold.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Experience in sales, purchasing or account management would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Confident and enjoys engaging with new people.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Competency in data entry and managing a CRM system.
• Committed to developing your knowledge in a new industry.
