Trainee Funeral Practitioner
An opportunity has arisen for a full-time trainee who is looking to become a member of our team.
You will be joining a family owned business where we require a high level of professionalism and commitment. We pride ourselves in giving attention to detail in everything we do with compassion and customer focus at all times.
You will be learning about and become involved in all aspects of our business, upholding the standards of our professional organisations and which includes the following:
Care and preparation of the deceased
Driver/Bearer
Cleaning and preparation of vehicles
Preparing coffins/caskets
Removal of the deceased from mortuaries, residential care and private residencies
Learning about the law and local practices relevant to the funeral service
Promoting and marketing the business
Fulfilling administrative duties
Liaising with families
Upholding relationships e.g with crematoria and mortuary staff, ministers and celebrants
Directing funerals
Simple maintenance duties
Working hours are 9 – 5 Monday to Friday with flexible working
You will be part of our “on call” rota and may also be required to work outside normal hours from time to time
Starting Pay £23,500 pa with additional payments for out of hours services plus annual bonus
You will have a full driving license
You will need to be physically fit
Be sociable, a good communicator and have good literacy skills
This position is subject to a basic DBS check
