This role offers an excellent opportunity for you to join a company that is forward thinking and focused on its people. This vacancy is due to expansion because of the company's growing success. You will be working in a team of 4, reporting to the Purchasing Manager.
In return, this company is willing to provide training and future support with gaining your CIPS qualification.
Duties and responsibilities for the Trainee Purchasing Assistantrole includes:
- You will provide support to the purchasing team including Import/Export activities
- Inputting Purchase Orders correctly onto the SAP system and placed with suppliers
- Dealing with order queries such as delivery dates, availability, shortages, damages etc. and to deal with these through to resolution
- Co-ordinate, progress and chase orders, and advise internal departments of status
- Gathering compliance information for products & material
- Maintain certifications for Approved Vendors
- Willing to do occasional travel to suppliers on behalf of the company
Skills and experience required for the Trainee Purchasing Assistant role:
- Previous Purchasing and Administration experience
- Knowledge of SAP would be desirable
- Strong communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Accuracy, attention to detail and highly numerate
- Quick to learn
- Ambitious individual with a proactive attitude
- Willing to take ownership of responsibilities.
