Job Overview:
We are seeking a trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the costs and finances of construction projects. Your expertise in cost control and financial management will contribute to the successful completion of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct cost estimates construction projects
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the quantity and cost of materials required
- Collaborate with contract managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate cost forecasting
- Prepare tender documents and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase and identify any potential cost overruns or savings
- Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates on project financials
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of materials used
- Evaluate variations and change orders, ensuring they are properly documented and accounted for

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
Requirements:
- Full Clean UK Driving License
- Commutable to Blackpool, Lancashire
- Currently studying or have completed a QS course or have relevant field experience
- Electrical industry knowledge
We are looking for someone either full or part-time. We are happy to work around someone who is currently at college completing their course.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £24,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
