Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview:
We are seeking a trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the costs and finances of construction projects. Your expertise in cost control and financial management will contribute to the successful completion of our projects.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct cost estimates construction projects
• Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the quantity and cost of materials required
• Collaborate with contract managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate cost forecasting
• Prepare tender documents and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase and identify any potential cost overruns or savings
• Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates on project financials
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of materials used
• Evaluate variations and change orders, ensuring they are properly documented and accounted for

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques
• Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations

Requirements:

• Full Clean UK Driving License
• Commutable to Blackpool, Lancashire
• Currently studying or have completed a QS course or have relevant field experience
• Electrical industry knowledge

We are looking for someone either full or part-time. We are happy to work around someone who is currently at college completing their course.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £24,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
