We are also passionate about improving the local communities in which we operate, targeting tangible social value outcomes that make a meaningful difference to everyday lives and the environment.The RoleThe role of a Trainee Site Manager requires the person to:- Learn how to lead by example in alignment with the core values of Walter Lilly- Successfully progress and obtain an appropriate academic qualification, with a high level of attendance- Supplement any external learning courses with experience gained on-site- Work collaboratively, with an emphasis on integration and teamwork, across all departments in conjunction with the inter-departmental integration of activities scheduled- Assist team members with the day-to-day running of the site- Provide support to the key disciplines, including management of subcontractors, checking of quality, understanding and monitoring of the Health, Safety and Environmental Plan- Developing an understanding of the specific contract terms and conditions- Comply with the business processes as defined within the Business Management System (BMS)About YouTo be considered as a Trainee Site Manager, you will need to:- Meet the academic requirements of the course- Demonstrate competency at a Level 2 standard in English and maths and be able to provide a copy of the original certificate of achievement- Previous experience working in the construction industry, even if only work experience (desirable)- Act professionally, fairly and reasonably at all times, including whilst at college or university- Appreciation of time management and working to deadlines- Be a team player and understand the roles and responsibilities of all team members- Organised, with the ability to maintain accurate records- An appropriate level of IT competency, particularly in Microsoft Excel- Attention to detail- To be self-motivated- Willing to learn and ask questions- Good communication skills and ability to convey information to people in a clear and concise manner- Good numeracy skills and mathematical understanding- Ability to obtain the necessary health and safety qualifications required for the role- Ability to patiently learn and develop- Commitment to achieving a long-term goalHow to ApplySo, if your skill set matches the above and the prospect of helping deliver some of the country's finest projects appeals to you, please reach out via the button shown.Applications will close on Sunday, 3 March at 23:59 with interviews scheduled at our Head Office in East Croydon on 21 - 22 March 2024.Your application will be processed by Walter Lilly.
