Year 7 Transition Teacher

Aylesbury (Buckinghamshire)

September 2024 start

£29,344 – £44,919

As a Year 7 Transition Teacher, you will play a key role in easing the transition for students as they move from primary to secondary school. You will work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports academic and personal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Year 7 students
  • Providing pastoral care and support to help students adjust to the challenges of secondary school life
  • Collaborating with primary and secondary school staff to ensure a smooth transition process
  • Monitoring student progress and implementing interventions where necessary to support their academic and social-emotional growth
  • Organising transition events and activities to familiarise students with their new school environment

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with Year 7 students or in a transition role is desirable but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom
