As a result of continued growth, we have a vacancy for a Transport Compliance Auditor to join the Gregory Group Internal Audit Team. The role will include auditing the group operating centres across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to make your own within the Gregory Group, whilst ensuring compliance toward operator license obligations.

The position of Transport Compliance Auditor involves:

• Completion of operating centre compliance audits focusing on our operator licence obligations and group transport policies and procedures.
• Utilise technological tools to remotely review and analyse fleet operations, tachograph records, reporting systems, and overall compliance.
• Conduct interviews with operating centre transport personnel to evaluate their knowledge and understanding of operator licence obligations and group transport policies and procedures.
• Completion of visual load security checks as part of the operating centre compliance audit ensuring compliance with legislation training and best practice.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports highlighting areas of non-compliance, supported by appropriate evidence.
• Complete post audit discussions with the operating centre transport teams highlighting areas for improvement.
• Develop action plans in collaboration with the operational teams and ensure timely closure of identified issues.
• Provide support and training to the operating centre transport teams to improve compliance.
• Analysis of Transport Compliance audit findings to identify trends and patterns within the group.
• Use data-driven insights to recommend improvements and enhance compliance across the organisation.
• Support the Internal Audit Manager in the delivering of the group internal audit plan and the development and deployment of best practice.
• Identification of internal policies and procedures that require updating to reflect changing legislative frameworks.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels across the group. Supporting the development of a compliant culture within the organisation.
• Flexibility to travel across sites and to plan & manage your own schedule.

Essential skills required for Transport Compliance Auditor:

• Experience of working in an auditing role within the distribution and warehouse is essential.
• Understanding of DVSA operator licencing procedures.
• Knowledge of fleet and tachograph management systems.
• Experience of having conducted auditing plans.
• Investigation and attention to detail aptitudes, as well as strong data-driven mindset and capabilities.
• Hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
• This role will include travelling to other sites within the business and some periods of staying away during the working week.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• MS packages to include, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Desirable skills required for Transport Compliance Auditor:

• National CPC holder is desirable.
• IIA qualification (or working towards).

Why Gregory Distribution?

• Salary for Transport Compliance Auditor is between £33,000pa - £37,000pa, depending on experience. PLUS company car allowance.

• Hours of work are Monday – Friday from 08:30hrs – 17:00hrs.
• Due to the nature of this role, flexibility may be required depending on location.
