Transport Front Line Manager - Nights

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Transport First Line Manager to join their team on the night shift in the Stoke-on-Trent area. Main duties of this Transport First Line Manager role:

• Support and promote a strong safety culture in the transport operation
• Understand roles and responsibilities for yourself and your team
• Be clear on objectives and KPIs
• Review and adjust daily plans as needed
• Schedule and conduct 1-2-1s with direct reports
• Manage and resolve daily transport issues
• Brief and debrief subcontractors starting and finishing on site
• Deputise for the transport manager on daily calls when needed
• Handle accident and breakdown management
• Ensure and check pre-shift yard checks and defect process
• Be the main point of contact for all drivers during your shifts
• Communicate productivity and direct hours targets to the team
• Assign and manage work via TMS, ensuring system compliance

Skills required for this Transport First Line Manager role:

• Experience in logistics is advantageous
• Proven experience in a transport office
• Knowledge of transport legal compliance
• Strong supervisory skills
• Target driven mind-set
• Proficient in computer use
• Excellent team player

• Strong problem solving skills
