A leading manufacturing and production company in the Braintree area are looking for a Transport Manager to join their team. The Transport Manager will oversee a busy Transport and Logistics department and will need to have extensive compliance experience.

Duties:
- Oversee the Transport & Logistics Department managing up to 30 staff
- Be responsible for the Operators License
- Ensure compliance with legislation, internal policies and procedures
- Fleet management of approximately 35 plus assets
- Periodic and routine maintenance and management of breakdowns etc.
- Adhere & promote health & safety, toolbox talks
- Develop, lead, mentor & motivate team
- Carry out training, appraisals and disciplinaries
- Management of procurement & budgeting for department
- LOLER compliance
To be considered for this position you will need the following experience:
- Must have a Transport CPC managers qualification and previous transport management experience
- Excellent knowledge of transport legislation and management of digital Tachograph and Moffat is required
- Experience gained within the manufacturing industry is essential
- Transport compliance & auditing experience is essential
- Good knowledge of equipment maintenance and previous HGV experience/licence is preferable
- Must be able to work well under pressure in a diverse and challenging environment
- Proactive approach to improving business and working relationships
- Excellent level of accuracy, numeracy and literacy with good Microsoft office skills
