About Our Client
I am currently exclusively partnered with a leading FMCG business based in Thirsk, in their search for a Transport Manager. This isn't any ordinary Transport Manager position - it will be fast paced and extremely hands on and oversee everything from driver relationships to key stake holder management.
Job Description
This key role will form the backbone of the Logistics operation within the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of our transport fleet, ensuring prompt deliveries and collections.
- Planning and optimizing routes to enhance efficiency and cut costs.
- Supervising driver schedules, ensuring adherence to regulations and company policies.
- Cultivating strong relationships with drivers, suppliers, and clients.
- Identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions to elevate our services.
- Maintain and improving current driver relations
The Successful Applicant
- Proven experience within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain sector - Ideally as a seasoned Transport Manager
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough knowledge of transport regulations and best practices.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Live within a comfortable commute of Thirsk
What's on Offer
Basic Salary of £50,000 - £65,000 DOE
