Transport Operator

4 ON 4 SHIFT PATTERN

As a Transport Operator, you will effectively manage vehicle utilisation and ensure drivers are given clear and precise instructions.

You will also ensure that all service levels are met cost effectively and within the constraints of driver’s hours and H&S regulations.

• Ensuring that all elements of the job are effectively communicated to drivers and subcontractors.

• To plan the effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors and agencies ensuring that all Company sites are fully considered when doing so

. • Ensure that all drivers are working within a safe environment and follow driver hours

• Liaising with retail department teams to optimise fleet/driver utilisation, identifying and resolving problems affecting delivery on time.

• Close liaison with other operators and team leaders to discuss efficiencies and agreed operational practices

. • To assist in the control of equipment, ensuring that customer requirements are met and

• Effectively manage the balance between own fleet and sub contract requirements, identifying and suggesting any areas for improvement

• Conducting investigations into accidents or issues of driver performance and raising with Team Leaders and HR to ensure they are dealt with efficiently and consistently

. • Working alongside fleet to ensure timely return of vehicles

• Working with Compliance to ensure trucks are legal and information is downloaded in a timely manner • Working alongside the Team Leader to ensure that costs are managed in accordance with the KPI’s

. • To undertake additional tasks/duties as may be required by Management from time to time. This list is not exhaustive and you may be required to undertake other duties.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £29,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
