This is an amazing opportunity to join a trusted name within Import/Export & Logistics industry as a Transport Planner. The purpose of the role will be to support the business in all departments to drive continuous improvement through the company's culture and values. You will ensure service levels continue to exceed targets whilst ensuring compliance with all processes, policies & procedures is maintained.
Role:
- Full time Permanent (Nights)
- 40 hours per week
- Salary (TBC)
- Site based
Role responsibilities (not limited to):
- Oversee business process related to transport operations
- looking at new ways implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Maintain quality control measures. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
- Performance management of employees
- Manage team meeting and discuss operations issues
- Assist with recruitment when bringing on new employees
- Overseeing and assisting the night team with loading/unloading containers
Knowledge and Experience required (not limited to):
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Knowledge of Transport and Logistics regulations
- Understanding and knowledge of UK fleet & transport laws
- Attention to detail
- Vehicle maintenance and mechanical knowledge
- Transport planning/Route Planning/Load planning for multi-drop
- Ability to communicate and to influence key stakeholders
