Working for an innovative logistics and transport business based in Ashbourne. This owner-managed business are renowned specialists within their industry.
This is a brand-new role created due to substantial growth and is integral to the future success of transport operations within the business.
As the Transport Planner you will be supported by an experienced Transport Administrator, overseeing the day-to-day transport operations, routing and managing all collections and deliveries for customers, ensuring the smooth transportation of all goods.

Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Overseeing day to day planning, vehicle scheduling and driver resourcing
- Action any potential issues from drivers or departments.
- Ensure colleagues are aware of any updates and changes to the driver's jobs.
- Act as the main contact for drivers in response to all transport related activity, keep in constant contact and de-brief on their return.
- Ensure all vehicles are updated throughout the day with an up-to-date status report.
- Record transport and delivery issues and escalate as required.
- Keeping up to date with transport issues, contacting those affected and dealing with changes to the days schedules.
- Troubleshooting critical transport related issues.
What we need from you?
- General haulage and route planning.
- Previous experience planning for a large fleet.
- Geographical knowledge particularly road networks.
- Knowledge of drivers' hours and Working Time Directive.
