SalaryOur client is a family run storage and distribution company based on the outskirts of Derby. Due to ongoing success, they are looking to appoint someone to be responsible for the planning and optimisation of the transport plan.
Your main responsibilities will entail:
- Maximisation of vehicle revenue
- Maximisation of drivers' hours
- Ensuring all daily orders are actioned and completed
- Use of GTS/ESP to ensure all jobs are resourced and planned in line with customer requirements
- Utilisation of subcontractors and partners
- Plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the transport system
- Ensure all loads meet safety standards
- Identifying any operational issues
- Communicate routes by liaising with other Depots / Sites / Customers
- Source and plan backloads to minimise vehicle empty running and maximise profitability of the fleet
In order to carry out this role effectively you should have worked in a similar role previously and be able to demonstrate a reasonable knowledge of the UK road network.
