Job description

Our client is looking for a Trusts Officer to help grow the fundraising activities of the investments and partnerships team. This is a 12-month fixed term contract role.

The Trusts Officer will support the trusts team to build and maintain relationships with grant-givers, identify prospective funders, write small and medium trust applications and reports, and conduct stewardship activities such as sending updates and communications.

Salary: £27,825 per annum
Contract: 12-month fixed term (maternity cover)
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday

About the role
The purpose of the Trusts Officer role is to support the trusts team to secure income to enable this charity to continue delivering vital services for the spinal cord injury community. The team consists of the Trusts Coordinator and the Trusts and Donor Development Manager. This is a temporary role covering maternity leave for a 12-month period.

This role contributes to the wider work and ambitions of the investments and partnerships team responsible for growing income, diversifying and strengthening the sustainability of the organisation’s income and networks.

The organisation receives funding from around 100 charitable trusts and foundations each year, with income totalling more than £750,000 in 2023/24.

The main responsibilities of the Trusts Officer role are:

  • Support the Trusts Team to build and maintain relationships with grant-givers through a range of communication methods.
  • Identify prospective funders using prospecting tools.
  • Write small and medium trust applications and reports by gathering information from teams across the organisation and via CRM database.
  • Conduct stewardship activities such as sending updates on the charity's wider activities and event invitations.

They are looking for an empathetic and organised individual with strong written skills. Experience working in a fundraising context and writing fundraising copy is preferred, but trust fundraising experience is not essential.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive team dedicated to improving the lives of people with spinal cord injury. This employer invests in its people and the Trusts Officer will be encouraged to use their assigned training budget for professional development opportunities.
