We are seeking an experienced Tutor Demonstrator for our Engineering Workshop area in the Engineering, Motor Vehicle and Science department, to support both main Engineering and T-Level practical’s and who will contribute to the safety of staff and students in the workshop and support student learning. The department is an exceptional place to work; you will join a close-knit team of educators who are constantly working to provide the best learning opportunities for our students in a stimulating, nurturing but also professional environment.
One of your key responsibilities will be for the Health and Safety in the workshop, from risk assessments to student training to ensuring the environment is tidy, clean and safe. In addition to this, you will be supporting students in the Engineering workshop during their lessons and assessments to achieve their full potential. You will also be responsible for checking stock levels and ordering materials.
Ideally, you will have a minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering with significant experience of working within a workshop environment, as well as proficiency with CNC, lathes, mills, pillar drills, 3D printers and CAD. You will have a health and safety qualification or be willing to work towards one. The safe maintenance and operations of all Engineering equipment in-line with manufacturer’s data and regulatory compliance within the provision is a fundamental requirement throughout the academic year, and you will need to ensure that the necessary training and updating of skills is undertaken and evidenced in a timely manner as when required.
