Permanent Group Accountant

Salary Range £58,000 - £64,000.

The position is working for a renowned private school based in SE London.

Hybrid working; 4 days on site.

This is a new permanent role which has arisen due to the expansion of the group. Its purpose is to help the finance team evolve to ensure it delivers a modern finance service to the growing group. It would suit an experienced accountant looking to broaden their experience across a range of legal, system and finance areas.There is potential for development and progression as the group anticipates needing additional Head of Finance roles in 2025.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the groups financial statements and audit working papers.
• Liaise with auditors.

Monitor operational budgets (income, expenditure and salaries) and respond to budget holders queries.

Improve financial processes and procedures Work with the CFO and Head of Finance help to ensure that our new accounting system is working as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Prepare high level cashflow forecasts and invest surplus cash to maximise investment returns.

Monitor completion of month end processes and help to resolve any issues identified as part of the process.

Payroll

• Work with the Head of Finance and Senior Accounting Officer to ensure that the monthly payroll is paid on time for the group.
