About the Role

This is an experienced Director role to lead the UK Brand and Marketing Capability team and its overall service excellence and technical capability delivery to the firm. The successful individual will have experience of leading teams to inspire and deliver marketing excellence in complex stakeholder environments and a passion for continuous improvement and development. Leading on marketing execution excellence across Brand, Campaign Management, Digital Marketing, Content and Thought Leadership and Buyer Engagement building the right combination of skills, experience and insight; and a laser focus on developing our people and approach to ensure consistent marketing excellence.
This role reports to the Head of Sales and Marketing Partner, and will be expected to manage multiple relationships with internal senior stakeholders and, collectively with the Strategy Directors in Sales and Marketing, be accountable for best practice in the planning, design and execution of all Marketing activity across the UK. In addition the individual will join the Sales and Marketing Senior Leadership Team - group of senior Directors responsible for leading the Sales and Marketing function in the UK.
As the Head of the UK Brand and Marketing Capability they will also have a presence and profile externally and work closely with other Network firms and global teams in the desire for marketing excellence alongside the governance of Marketing activities and all enabling technology.
This individual will have a key role to play in ensuring marketing operates seamlessly and efficiently and as a capability is focused on delivery excellence and creating optimal value and impact to our stakeholders, to the business and for our brand, all with our client at the heart.
Responsibilities of the Role
  • Responsible for setting the level of excellence and quality delivery for all marketing activations and for the PwC Brand execution into the market and through the digital client experience governed by the Sales and Marketing function.
  • Partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to work with Markets Leadership and the individual Leaders and their teams, as appropriate, to agree the marketing approach, channels and programmes to achieve key market outcomes and target audience impact.
  • Responsibility for the Brand Governance and the submission on behalf of the UK firm to the network standards. This includes attendance at, and active participation in, the Global Brand meetings and responsibility for ensuring compliance in respect of Product Naming, Intellectual Property and adherence to Brand Clearing House requirements.
  • Leadership on the development and delivery of Marketing and Brand areas of capability including the curriculum for learning and development and talent development.
  • Responsibility for the recruitment and clarity of career path for marketing professionals hired into the function and identification and investment in key talent in the annual performance cycle.
  • Inspire and mentor team members, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth, and cultivating a pipeline of future marketing leaders.
  • Accountable for managing the annual performance and reward cycle for the Brand and Marketing capability team, including managing performance and escalation and resolution of any people-related risks
  • Set and monitor the quality standards and monitoring of the value for money across activities delivered through the Marketing Capability, so that they are maintained consistently with a focus on the value created alongside increased efficiency and effectiveness of the activities.
  • Accountability for translating multiple forms of data and insight to understand market excellence performance and to define best practice.
  • Accountability for the investment and roadmap execution of marketing technology against plan and to deliver a refreshed digital experience for clients and targets
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, constantly seeking new ways to innovate and push the boundaries of what's possible in marketing and brand management.

Essential skills and experience:
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, and Marketing within a partnership environment
  • Ability to lead through change and maintain stakeholder engagement, respect and impact at senior levels in a complex matrix environment
  • Strategic and insight-driven mindset with strong commercial acumen
  • Passion for digital and technology including being data-driven in decision making
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Thorough understanding of the strategic business drivers for PwC
  • Creative mindset and an articulate storyteller with an innovative approach to translating the firm's vision and priorities
  • Proactive, flexible, and agile in navigating changing agendas
  • Strong project management and organizational skills including budget management
  • Role model Director leadership behaviors and demonstrate value and impact for the firm.
