Microsoft Global Partner Solutions (GPS) is the commercial organisation accountable for driving Microsoft’s growth and success, through our partner ecosystem. We define and execute our global partner ecosystem strategy, focused on the end-to-end partner lifecycle, such that together we can deliver our customers digital transformation goals.
As UK Partner Technology Leader, you will be responsible for leading the team of circa 30 Partner Technology Strategists and Partner Solution Architects who work with our partner ecosystem to develop the technical capacity, and deep technical capabilities across the Microsoft Platform, and develop co-sell ready solutions and services on the Microsoft Cloud to accelerate opportunity origination and co-sell.
As Partner Technology Leader, you will leverage your challenger mindset, deep technology and industry expertise, market insights, expert understanding of the competitive landscape, and best in class interpersonal abilities to empower your team to further grow the technical capabilities of our robust ecosystem of world class partners, enabling them to bring market-defining solutions to our customers. Trusted Advisor

  • Acting as the MS "Chief Technology Officer " (CTO) for our Partner Ecosystem and establishing long-term relationships with CIOs, CTOs and CEOs of our strategic partners, using your technical and professional credibility to act as trusted advisor to them on their strategic direction, growth and investment in the Microsoft partnership. Influencing a broad set of stakeholders across the partner organizations to challenge partners to adapt strategies, plans, business models.
  • Providing expert guidance and thought leadership to the partner ecosystem, advising and influencing the partner ecosystem on high priority industry and technology trends and opportunities including privacy, security, sovereignty, sustainability, AI, and other areas.
  • Demonstrating partner and customer obsession in driving digital transformation and Microsoft technology adoption by helping partners realize the value, meet their business objectives, achieve their consumption and business targets, and accelerate growth. Leveraging rich expertise and relationships with technical decision makers to guide the development of Partner Technology roadmaps that enable them to expand into new markets and provide them with a competitive edge.
Strategy Formulation
  • Partnering with leadership (e.g., GPS Leads, ATU and STU) to set the overall partner technical strategy.
  • Creating the vision and defining the Partner Ecosystem Technical Strategy and Plan, required for technical team to execute, aligned to our Partner Business Strategy and the subsidiary strategy & priorities - to ensure we have the technical capability and capacity (measured through solutions designations, specializations, marketplace transactable solutions and service offers) across our partner ecosystem to deliver on our subsidiary growth ambitions.
  • Acting as a spokesperson and oversees the expansion of Microsoft relationships with large, complex, and/or global partners into strategic partnerships, and using strategic foresight to anticipate issues and refine strategy consistent with the long-term vision of the customer's/partner's business strategy. Oversees PTS/PSAs who drive action to bring to fruition.
  • Coaches execution excellence across teams and ensures the work supports the transformation of partners and their customer's technology capacity, capability, and co-selling across engagements and uses expertise and influence to accelerate strategy execution.
    Guides the creation of trusted, long-term technical development plans (TDP) for our strategic accounts, based on a deep understanding of business and technology priorities and industry landscape in alignment with the Partner Business Plans (PBPs) and in collaboration with the Partner Development Manager (PDM).
  • Demonstrates partner and customer obsession in driving digital transformation and Microsoft technology adoption by helping them realize the value, meet their business objectives, achieve their consumption and business targets, and accelerate growth. Leverages rich expertise and relationships with technical decision makers to guide the development of Partner Technology roadmaps that enable them to expand into new markets and provide them with a competitive edge.

Solution Development
  • Influencing partner ecosystem all levels of the organization to develop groundbreaking and highly impactful solutions using Microsoft technologies, and building solutions to enable partners to sell to end-customers and create impact that shapes the industry.
  • Accelerating the AI opportunity with our partner ecosystem by supporting our partners’ development of AI powered industry and horizonal solutions and services enabling us (together) to transform customers and industries leveraging the power of AI.

Demand Generation and Orchestration

  • Forecasting skills needed to execute on technical strategy and promoting the acceleration of skilling on new or upcoming technologies to ensure partner ecosystem readiness.
  • Providing expertise (and is sought out by the Microsoft community because of broad expertise across technologies or solution areas) and influencing the direction that virtual team members (e.g., Account Team) take with partners and their customers by providing them with strategic input using thorough knowledge of Microsoft technologies, partner accounts, and digital transformations and their context in the competitive landscape.
  • Helping assigned partners engage in technical pre-sales, deployment, and consumption for the practices or solutions they have built.
  • Accelerating co-selling with our partner ecosystem and virtual team members (e.g. Account teams) by sponsoring and participating in opportunity pursuits for large / complex / transformational deals with partners.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND strong years of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical/sales experience
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND multiple years of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical/sales experience
OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND proven years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical/sales experience
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND proven years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical/sales experience
OR equivalent experience.
Proven years experience with relevant technologies (e.g., cloud, infrastructure, Microsoft platform).
Strong years of people management experience.
