What you'll do:
As an Underwriter for International Casualty, you will play a pivotal role in developing this line of business. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include contributing to strategic planning developments, assisting in the preparation of operational team plans, adhering to underwriting standards, performing underwriting activities in line with legal requirements, establishing relationships with key stakeholders, and underwriting insurance risks as per the business plan.
Contribute to strategy and planning developments to ensure relevancy, compliance, and optimal delivery
Assist in the preparation and implementation of operational team plans
Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency
Perform underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements
Establish, strengthen and develop relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues
Looking at Exposure of Deal as well as Pricing Themselves
Occasional Traveling and Getting Close with Clients
Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and delegated underwriting authority
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Underwriter for International Casualty role brings broad experience from an underwriting environment within a specialised or complex area. You have proven experience resolving complex underwriting queries and hold specific professional qualifications at degree level or equivalent. You are ACII qualified or making progress towards completing insurance qualifications. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills set you apart as does your proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel.
Broad experience of working in an underwriting environment within International Casualty area
Lloyds Experience
Experience of resolving complex underwriting queries
Specific professional qualifications at a level of degree or equivalent
ACII (or equivalent) qualified or progress towards completion of insurance qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in MS Office applications eg Excel and other departmental software packages
